Edits and Drafts
I am fully aware that the title is talking about book drafts and not draft beer, but I am thinking about beer at the time, and what's wrong with a little word play? Huh? As opposed to the last couple weeks, I actually have a fair amount of things to update you on today, and that feels good. That means that things are moving forward. I like it when things are moving forward. Stagnation is the worst enemy of an author. I spent way too much time being sedentary in my writing car

Letter To Tom #1
*** This is a POV post where a real person or a fictional character "writes a letter to Tom." *** Hello everybody. I've been saying for a while that I was going to start this series, and here is the first instance. Our first entry comes from our good friend Dirk Bradford. If you didn't read it he recently did a guest blog post here: POV: It's Dirk Time. I have no clue what he's going to write, but I do know that Dirk is a character. So whatever he writes will most assuredly b

Does Anyone Really Understand Social Media?!?
Now we're to the part of the venture where in the past all of my other projects have completely flown off the rails. Marketing. I am awful at marketing. I just always have been. When I created an iPhone app for a WWE Wrestler, when I self published a book, and when I owned two different breweries...the one common thread among all of them was the fact that I was awful at marketing. To be fair to myself social media wasn't the animal that it is now back then. I would have been

POV: Teddy
***** This is a blog post written from the perspective of the protagonist of my novel "Rediscovering Reality" and is a work of Fiction. Read this blog post if you would like to know the general premise of the book: I Wrote A Book ***** January 7th, 2001 (don't pay too much attention to this date. I didn't feel like researching enough when this actually would have happened. This is a rough ballpark guesstimate) Teddy A lot has happened today, and when I say a LOT has happened

My Book Has An Editor
The publisher that is publishing my book has assigned an editor to my book! It feels surreal to type that out. When I self-published my first novel I did all of the editing myself. If you've read my self-published novel, I'm sorry, and it's probably more than slightly obvious that I edited it myself. I'm not and never have really been particularly good at editing. I do my best, and I try as hard as I can, but it's not something that I particularly excel at. You can probably t

My First Fan Mail
***** This is a blog post written from the perspective of the protagonist of my novel "Rediscovering Reality" and is a work of Fiction. Read this blog post if you would like to know the general premise of the book: I Wrote A Book ***** October 24th, 2013 My First Fan Mail I've never once thought I would be in a position where I would talk about receiving fan mail. Mostly because it doesn't make sense. I don't have fans. I have NPCs that my brain has created to convince me tha

Brewing Up A Marketing Strategy
I've had a marketing strategy that I've been bouncing back and forth in my head since I first found out that Win's Books Publishing is going to be publishing my book, and I have to say that I'm particularly excited about it. For those of you that are new to my blog posts, welcome! Also...I've owned two craft beer breweries, and have extensive experience with homebrewing. Stay with me. I know it probably feels like I just derailed the train Dungeon Crawler Carl style, but I'm

Time To Celebrate !!
I have managed to achieve something that I have always wanted to. This is a time to celebrate! I genuinely cannot put into words how ecstatic I am about the things that are coming up for me and my family in the next year. As you already know if you read this blog post: I Wrote A Book. The title is fairly self explanatory...but I wrote a book. It's a book idea I've had marinating in my noggin for several years, but I finally took the time to actually write it. Don't worry. The

Coping
***** This is a blog post written from the perspective of the protagonist of my novel "Rediscovering Reality" and is a work of Fiction. ***** January 3rd, 1997 Today marks the one year anniversary of "the accident." It's been exactly one year since I was hit by a car. I don't even know why I'm doing this. None of this is real. Everyone says that I'm ok, that I woke up in the hospital, and that everything is fine. The only reason I'm even writing this is because my Therapist r

Book Update
I know it's been a while since I've written one of these posts. I've had both a lot and very little going on at the same time. I felt like it was well beyond time to give an update on what's going on with my book though. The whole thing with the crowd funding campaign to self-publish my book being run through my stream didn't quite work the way I had intended it to. That's fine. I probably didn't do as good of a job setting it up or advertising it the way that I should have.

Campaign Rewards and Goals
I did a lot of thinking today about what the rewards and goals should be today. I obviously still had to work as well, but I also did a lot of thinking about what would be fun. I want the rewards and goals to both be fun. I want them to be enticing. I want them to be something that people get excited about. I would love to hear what your ideas for rewards and goals would be in the comments. This is far from being an exhaustive list. I will add additional goals and rewards thr

I Wrote A Book
Hey y'all I know it's been a long time since I've made one of these posts. I'm here with the good news that I've finally written a new book. It's a book that I've wanting to write for a long time. I've had the idea in my head for years, and I've started writing it several times, but I've never fully been able to get around to finishing it. I'm going to keep this short because I still don't have a lot to talk about yet. The book is called "Rediscovering Reality" and it's about
