So Much News and Updates
It's been way too long since I've written one of these and I'm sorry for that. I've got so much to share now though. Like, I've got so much to share now, and I hope we're starting to get into a rhythm where I will have a lot more to share each week. I just didn't want to write one of these when I didn't really have much to share and end up forcing content just to have content.
Where do I even start? I am going to have an author website. Just for me. All about my authory stuff. It's being put together by the publisher that's publishing my book. Win's Books Publishing really is so amazing, and I'm so incredibly happy that I found them. If this book doesn't do well then it's probably going to be more because of me than it's going to be because of Win's.
I saw the first draft versions of the cover art for my book. I love them! I love them all! I made some slight change requests. Actually, what I requested is more like a combination of two of the different designs. If it turns out the way that I want it to, which I'm sure it will, it's going to be so incredibly awesome. It's going to be so surreal whenever I finally feel a physical copy of it in my hands.
I was on a podcast! Win's Books Publishing has its own podcast where they get their authors to be in different episodes. The episode is probably not going to be posted until sometime in December, but it was a lot of fun. I love being on podcasts. It reminds me of when I used to have my own podcast on YouTube. Part of me misses doing that, but it just became so difficult to get guests.
I should be getting the first round of edits for "Rediscovering Reality" back any time now. I've talked about this before. I'm both excited and terrified about that fact. I'm looking forward to it though. Mainly I'm looking forward to it, because I'm ready to get back to making progress on that novel. I'm ready to be moving closer to being ready to publish it.
I finished the first draft of "Black Iris." I'm going to have to come up with a more specific genre for it, but it's a Horror Mystery Detective Serial Killer Novel with aspects of Romance. I don't know the best way to narrow it down. We've already talked about this. I'm not good with genre classifications. I didn't really even know that "Rediscovering Reality" was a "Contemporary Fiction" novel until someone told me.
I received my first "Letter to Tom" written by someone other than me! I actually received two of them. They were both written by Shasta Kayde as characters from her novel "Beyond the Divide." I'm probably going to be working with a PR Agent as we get closer to publishing "Rediscovering Reality." It's someone that works directly with Win's Books Publishing, and I'm really excited to work with her. I need to save up some money to be able to do so, but it's going to really help with some of the things that I want to try to do in terms of marketing in the lead up to the release of my book. I want to be on so many podcasts. I want to be on all of the podcasts! Well...I want to be on all of the podcasts that don't have icky agendas.
Once I start working on editing "Rediscovering Reality" that'll probably mean taking a break from streaming. I know this is more about my writing than it is about my streaming, but I also know that people who watch my streams also tend to read this. I also won't be able to get back to working on "Black Iris" until I finish the next round of edits on "Rediscovering Reality." I'm hoping with taking time off from streaming and focusing entirely on edits that I'll be able to finish the next round of edits fairly quickly.
The Win's Books Publishing submission window closes on October 31st. So that's the target. I want to finish the next round of edits of "Rediscovering Reality" and get a couple rounds of edits on "Black Iris" in after that and in time to submit "Black Iris" before October 31st. "Black Iris" is such a departure from "Rediscovering Reality," but I'm really hoping that I'll be able to share it with the world. I'm really hoping that Win's Books Publishing will decide to accept it as well.
Maybe I'll do a blog post next week that just gives more details about "Black Iris" and what the book is about without getting into any spoilers or anything.

I need to do a cost analysis on which of the two would be the best for me. I'll keep you all updated. There's just potential that this blog and the newsletter might be moving to a new home at some point. ***
