POV: Teddy

***** This is a blog post written from the perspective of the protagonist of my novel "Rediscovering Reality" and is a work of Fiction. Read this blog post if you would like to know the general premise of the book: I Wrote A Book *****

January 7th, 2001 (don't pay too much attention to this date. I didn't feel like researching enough when this actually would have happened. This is a rough ballpark guesstimate)

Teddy

A lot has happened today, and when I say a LOT has happened I mean that a LOT HAS HAPPENED. This is my biggest and greatest evidence that none of this is real, because there's no way that I would be able to handle this much physical and mental upheaval in a single day. I would have stopped about an hour in, sat in the corner of my room, and refused to do anything for the rest of the day.

I've moved into my own apartment. I've, moved into my own apartment. Veronica and I are talking about her maybe moving in at some point, but right now it's just me, and that's kind of nice. I've never lived on my own before. I know realistically I'm not living on my own now either, but the temporary feeling of actually being out in the world and on my own is both terrifying and freeing.

Mama needs this. Brain mama needs this. I know that taking care of me is a lot. It's been weighing on her. She's not sleeping well. She doesn't sleep all night and then she has to go to work the next day. The weekly checks cover the expenses of being able to support me, but they're not enough so that she can quit her job. I know that she would like to be able to if she could.

Mama works with the building manager of the apartment building I live in now. His name is Teddy. I think that she talked to him about getting the place for me. It's nice enough. It's incredibly clean. I don't think I've ever seen a place be so clean. Every single surface has been meticulously detailed. I did find a small strip of caution tape in one of the closets, which was somewhat concerning, but I didn't think about it too much.

Teddy is a character. That's really the only way I can think to explain it. He is a very unique individual. His accent is unplaceable and seems to change at random. When I first was introduced to him he was holding a plunger in one hand, and a kitten in another. I don't think I've ever seen the man without a plunger in one of his hands. It's like it's somehow attached to him. He doesn't really appear to go anywhere without it.

There's something about Teddy that I can't quite put my finger on though. I don't know. Something about the man feels magical. It doesn't feel like he belongs here. It feels like he belongs on a magical realm somewhere.

Anyway. Big day was big. I moved. I have my own apartment now. I met a magical toilet plunger bearing being? What's next? I get a real job. Ugh...I hope I never have to do that. As long as my brain simulation keeps giving me money every week, and as long as I have Veronica in the simulation...I guess everything will be fine...and I won't have to work
